How does the shio compare to dc04 pro?

I will have it in a couple of weeks.
A little unfair though because it is more expensive and uses extra amplifier op-amps.

Ichos will you get your hands on a Fiio Q11 to compare to the Shio and both the iBassos?

I already have one but not opened yet and I haven't decided about the comparisons.

Thanks for the review. It appears the dimensions you indicated are wrong, it's not 54 x 13 x 10mm but 54 x 21.5 x 14mm.

Maybe I made a mistake, I will measure it later today.

I have measured again (without the cable of course) and is about 54x20x14 so I stand corrected.

I got the Shio and it sucks.
First I was having crackling and muting issues on PC, after some time the crackling stopped, but I'm still having muting issues (even with usb power saving turned off), unless I uninstall their drivers and use the standard win11 drivers.
Using it on the phone is even worse. After a couple of minutes It starts to make a click sound every 5-10 seconds in the left ear, and the only fix is to reconnect it.

This is very unfortunate but it seems that you got a lemon.
No such issues with my unit.
I would return it under warranty for refund or a new unit.

I am also tempted by the new FiiO KA13 however.

Both are good. The FiiO KA13 has the desktop enhanced mode in case that you are interested.

Thanks @Ichos i’m very tempted by Shio but UA1 plus is tempting too. I don’t need necessarily 4.4 because I use Fitear TG334 and 634ears Loak TCL with 3.5 cable and also Apple dongle can drive them. Not easy to chose a small dongle for my iPhone 12 Pro Max
Perfect form factor was M12, UA1 plus is almost the same but DC03 pro and Shio aren’t bad at all too on paper
