ah 10hr is to prevent damage diaphragm Imagine overheating of Engine, that’s the same case.
For LCP driver, from my experience is largely impacted by burn-in, especially you may feel muddy /mushy/ unclear Image and distortions right after taking it out of the box.

For ear tips, it’s just a preference, if you find the ear tips matched to your listening preference, that’s your buddy! And listening preferences are not static, it changes. If you haven’t try SpinFit W1 with HEXA, I’d just leave a note: “It’s a good shot of martini”

Oh snap, I did straight 1-2 day periods. Hopefully that didn't damage them. :/ I wonder if 10hr also applies to planar IEMs. To cool them off maybe 30 min pause would be enough.

Fantastic review. Thanks for taking the time to write it up!

SpinFit W1 are pretty good on HEXA. They're even better than Type E. Still waiting for Dunu tips, but I can wait with Spinfits. :) Size S fits my ears. Strangely M is already too thick.

@helloh3adfi great to head that.
If you want to boost sub-bass, while retaining transparency, Softears UltraClear(UC) tips will do the job for your future reference.

I think sub-bass is plenty already. That's why I like to increase mid and upper bass.

@helloh3adfi That’s exactly what I perceived, as HEXA’s bass slope is very well curved, it doesn’t need unnatural emphasis to sound good.

Hi @AmericanSpirit in the review you posted a picture of the fiio fh3 and the hexa. I am unsure if the hexa's would fit in my ears and I have tried the fh3. How similar would you say the fit of these two IEM's is?
AmericanSpirit
AmericanSpirit
@lolbolpower Hi the nozzle angle of both FiiO FHE(basically FH3-retuned) and HEXA are pretty similar, so if you find your ear shape isn’t compatible with FH3, you may want to consider buying SpinFit W1 ear tips in addition. For me, among kver a hundreds pairs of IEMs, there are no IEM that would not fit using W1, so fit issue should be solved.
Hope this info find you well.

I only see SML packages of Spinfit W1 tips. Aren't there single sizes available?
AmericanSpirit
AmericanSpirit
@helloh3adfi Not that I know of, I only could find SML package. It’s still useful though, S for deep insertion type, M for regular IEM, L for those you find extremely or almost impossible to fit type IEMs. For me I had to use L size for Westone W80, AKG N5005, Tangzu Wu Zetian, the ones with short nozzle and wrong-angle to my ear. For HEXA I was fine with stock tip, so W1(M) is just to controlling resonance of the sound.

The fh3 fit me fine. W1 are eartips right? Do they afeect sound much?
For me most of the time the fit mostly depends on the housing size, because my ears are quite small. Sorry for not clarifying in the original post.

@lolbolpower if you don’t have fit issues with FH3, it should be fine. W1 is SpinFit’s latest generation of ear tips that has 3-4mm of extensions toward end of nozzle of IEM, so you cam have extra space between IEM’s housing and your ear. This may solve any fit issues, at least for myself/friends/cowokers/family, my mother has very small ear and W1 worked well.

Ear tips, and especially that has acoustics cylinder inside its structure, does change sound by Acoustic resonance management, this is a simple wave science and you do see this from the shape of speaker, to horns, trumpets, all analog chamber instruments. There are pairing miss/hit for each IEM & ear tips, as well as cables, W1 out of my 30 or 40 pairs ear tips was the best match, but you may find your favorite ones.

I'm really amazed by this review, it is very spot-on and addresses to every user's needs, especially on the Tip and Cable section. Also I've been going back and forth on my opinion about burn-in but the HEXA was the first time I had very clearly noticeable changes in the bass-domain, right after the first hours.
I find it could have a tiny bit more midbass, but I'm used to Arias as my daily driver, so my neutral'ish taste will still need to adapt. So far been using 07 tips, of which I really like the comfort and seal, but I might have to try some Softears UC, but do they come with a downside in terms of sound? W1 might be interesting too, but I don't know what to expect from them.

W1 Spinfits sound great and the comfort is even better. Can't stop raving! You can use them on other IEMs as well.

@Mesteves77 Thank for the complement! That pays off my time and effort putting those together👍 HEXA’s review is somewhat a narrative walk-thru to guide this IEM with my twenty years of life lived in this industry, I’m glad it helped!

UC will narrow down mid-range transparency in an exchange of treble clarify and sub-bass boost.

W1, you may refer my post here, it’s a narrative of what W1 would do to any IEMs.

I understand lower bass floor of HEXA compared to Aria, once you get use to the slope, you may feel HEXA’s slope is mean to produce a realistic “3D bass” instead of subwoofer rumbling the room. However I’d like to add 1more decibels to the floor, which XINHS 4core graphene cable did the job.

Yesterday, I noted another finding of ear tips that would be an endgame match for whom looking for a natural sound reproduction on HEXA. Here is the post if anyone interested.
Cheers!

I should really stop reading reviews. Blessing 2 Dusk is out of my budget, but this isn't. Goes on the "Maybe for 2023" watchlist!

@Carpet to be honest, HEXA is a better made one…After you fully burn HEXA in with good ear tip like W1 and M570, it’s got a better tonal consistency that I can rely as “Reference Sound”
