Do you think this sounds better than the Sony V6?

The Sony V600 is a better comparison to it, they have some very striking similarities. The same old-school mid-forward sound. great midrange bass, dry trebles. Although, I incline more into the bassy headphone category, with some short air-time I tend to like them alot.

I have the Dj100 (should be similar) and never figured out why some say it lacks bass. I think 90% of consumer just want very elevated bass. I always felt the Dj100 has a slight bass hump or close to neutral bass as you can get.
Are you sure about the sub-bass? I've always been impressed with it's low bass and it goes pretty low for me. I've never found it to have any lack of sub-bass at all. Used test tones and everything with no problems. IMO it has more sub-bass than even the HD-600.
Since i've had this headphone, I've always felt it had the best vocals of any headphone under $200. It does very well for female vocals, especially in Jpop. Utada Hikaru's Japanese releases sound especially good. It's definitely a very fun and engaging headphone. Pretty crystal clear usually and it has a ton of detail. Sometimes it's not apparent at first.
Have you tried the M50 pads on these? For me it seems to give the impression of a larger soundstage, slightly more treble and maybe a little extra bass. It also improves the comfort a lot.

I have no issues with the bass, since I'm viewing them more of a "Pro" headphones than a consumer-centric one. While they are very good for monitoring house and electronica, they don't fit hiphop music. But, I don't use hiphop music in my sets so not a problem. Right now, I'm playing Bob Marley tunes, Pizzicato Five, Globe, some bossa novas, and some crossover jazz and they do stand-out for those tunes. They do offer very good imaging, so I would rather use these headphones for in-house mixing than in live set performances. Their detail is almost as good as the Shure 840s, but the highs are rolls off politely which is good for long-listening hours. What this headphone needs is an identity, drop the name DJ100 and make it PRO100. I did try both M50 and PRO700MK2 pads on them, and I find the PRO700MK2 pads better since they isolate more (an exact fit)

Yeah, I think the DJ label MIGHT have hurt sales. I'm so glad I ignored that they were a DJ headphone and went with them anyway. I've criticized the TB version, but only because of the original price of $150(!). It's nice to see they're down to $90. I think it was a smart move for Koss to release the TB and DJ200 versions. Don't know why we need 3 versions though.
Thanks for the tip on the Pro700MK2 pads. I'll have to try those out. I suggested memory foam pads to Koss, but highly unlikely they'll ever offer any. KRK KNS-8400 type memory foam pads on the DJ100 would be amazing!
I should try Pizzicato Five on the DJ100. Acoustic music such as Ali Farka Toure sounds really impressive on the DJ100.
Been trying to suggest this headphone for Asian pop fans without much luck.
I think fans of the Grado SR-225is mids might like this one...I prefer the 225i to the SR-80 and 325is. 225i mids are much more forward though I think.
