Nice reviews. I think the source and eartips are quite important for the BLONs. It gets much warmer and has better dynamics/timbre/details when amped. It is quite a power hungry IEM (despite its specs on paper), no doubt it can be driven by a smartphone, but amping really changes its sound for the better. In fact I don't find it cold sounding at all, but one of the warmer and analogue sounding IEMs (with amping).

Since the BLONs stock eartips are crap, all of us are using different eartips or mods with it, that may also explain the different sound impressions all of us have with the BLONs (especially in the bass). I actually find the timbre and note weight better in the BLONs than Ninetails. But for me Ninetails wins in clarity, soundstage, details, instrument separation and of course it is customizable.
The Nine tails and BLONs are my current favourite single DD IEMs, both are good sets for sure.

yep my source might be at fault here, idk if the g7 high gain mode might not be enough(?) which I doubt tho, however Ive been using it also with my zishan z3 and my desktop rig and still have that coldness to it, I might purchase an amplifier for it.

Toneking just released the 1Q (single DD) and P10 (planar). No reviews so far, but they look nice. You getting those?
I'll wait for reviews for those as they are pretty pricey at launch though.
I was also thinking of trying the Shockwave 3 but didn't realize the non detachable one has different tuning. Bummer.

I will wait for now, Im very satisfied with what the sw iii could offer, If I find a review comparison with any of that new tonekings or their t88k against the shockwave iii, I might buy. Im eyeing on the v10 tho.

Blon is the opposite of cold and analytical

Btw I think I have to clarify my statement on the blon. Cold might not be the proper term, maybe cool(?), I really do find the tuning of the blon to be lacking in warmth. And I dont think Ive ever said it was analytical sounding, just to be clear.
