Well, they are 2 totally different species. Where the PRO having more separation into trebles and midrange dislocations. Which can be a plus if that is the side of the street you want to live on? For Metal the PRO has this charming midrange which catapults guitars into the stage, yet they are laidback still. Where the Wu has better bass separation yet both are not going to win a prize in bass detail. Still both are totally delivering as far as bass goes, where both make for a style of luscious bass action. I think of both as equals! Depending on the song the Wu can truly create some cool separation in the bass dept, so it gets details almost from layering?

Due to presentation they could be thought of as complementary in they do presentations different, but also not like normal complementary IEMs in that they are really arriving at the same location..... smooth, forgiving and warm vile! The Wu offers a slightly better imaging of display which shows planar technicalities, where the PRO is not as fast in the bass department, yet you still love the PROs bass, for being incredible! Truly the price for what you get with the PRO is silly good! The Wu demands slightly more power to get out of the woods.

Probably more detail in the higher frequency for the Wu, this tune of the PRO really lowers the treble and upper midrange which removes BA timbre, maybe. It’s on the darker side, where the Wu doesn’t get thought of as being so dark, of course it is still slightly dark. The Wu also has good timbre, maybe some of the best of the planars I’ve heard. Both are incredible deals and offer fun all day listening. Both are 2 of my most favorite new IEMs, they really have this sound figured out. Both jump and scale with better sources, somewhat....to a point....but if you wonder why they are not exactly $600 IEMs, it’s the upper-end detail they are reserved in. Still both have “soul”......cheers!

How does it compare to the Moondrop Aria or something similar?

Haven’t heard that?

Then any comparison to the tripowin lea and the trn mt3?

Better tuned than both of those. No 5.5kHz peak like the MT3 has (so smoother) also bigger soundstage than both the Lea and MT3, more bass detail found than both of them. Thicker sounding than Lea, more like a real IEM where the MT3 and Lea are toys. Also more itemization of musical elements (than both) into the stage, better separation and contrasts! Better timbre (to me) than both, which is a surprise, being MT3 and Lea don’t have BA drivers!

Great review. My KZ ZS10 Pro X arrived a couple of days ago. Took me a couple of days with them to fully understand them, let alone form my opinion of them. I'm loving them - can't stop listening to them - don't want to sleep, but just listen to them.
As you say, if it's in the Hi Res FLAC file, it's represented with sheer accuracy with these IEMs. I get that the BAs in this hybrid are subtly adding to the tuning; however, I can't help think that if the BA (producing the mids) in Rose Mini 2 MKII was implemented in the KZ ZS10 Pro X, I would have my end game IEM. What an amazing step up from the original ZS10 Pro and for less money too. Unbelievable IEM for it's sound quality: price point ratio . Agree with everything in your review. Cannot believe there aren't more reviews promoting it.

Oh...KZ BA drivers crossing manufactures and springing out into the open market to garner more business for KZ! Sounds like a plan. Glad you enjoy them! Yep, they reproduce what you feed them with! I wish I would have heard the original, but you can't hear them all. Cheers!

I'm kind of embarassed to say this IEM is easily the best pairing with Sony WM1Z out of around 30 IEMs tested, all more expensive and some totl level. Hard to believe but KZ produced a real gem oh boy. Can't stop listening. Be sure to get a balanced cable, difference is big..

It’s insane how good these are, and yes....the 1Z combo rules!

Thanks again to @Redcarmoose for your review which inspired me to purchase this IEM. I recently just purchased the RU7 and the synergy with the ZS10 Pro X is just stunning - unbelievable sq. You could just listen to this synergy for hours on end. Perfectly balanced across the frequency range, open and dynamic with incredible soundstage. If I wasn't already in love with this IEM already ❤. Never have I encountered such an immersive listening experience. This is surely what high end monitors aspire to achieve?

I know, it may be one of the truly most underrated IEMs? Meaning probably a bunch of people have bought it, yet there seems to be little press about it, and that seems odd? I'm happy my review helped you to find a great IEM, as it would be special at any price asked, only it's even better for the value it offers, IMO.

Honestly the best buy so far. I recently got the PR2s, which also seem to present good value for money; however, the left monitor completely fades out and stops working. Tried switching cables and using each tested cables with different IEMs - definitely issue with PR2s. This is what prompted me to reunite with the ZS10 Pro X. At least something good came out of the poor experience (PR2).

I hope the ZS10 Pro X becomes one of those sleeper IEMs, that becomes more popular as time goes on. Though KZ has probably set-up shop to make 10 more new ones by now?

Thanks for the review. It made me purchase a set. I need to try these for myself. And for that price what can go wrong.

For the price there is nothing to lose, really price here is almost irrelevant as if you blend with the signature, they are priceless! :)
Cheers!

I now received the Pro (not X, but they are on their way..) and I can’t believe that they ARE THIS GOOD!😱 Hmmm… this gives me something to think about… and other high end brands too… crazy that it took me so long time to try these. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Got the kz10 pro x today and quite unbelievable what's in the pack..decent fast resolution ( not as planars but north of pretty good ) balanced smooth mids with powerful thick bass - and not much bleeding really ..not a million dollar highs or extensions or a 2000$totl of course but doesn't sound very 50$ish

So happy amazing that my IEM search for a portable convenient still cheap solution already finished , just 3 days and I nailed the right one for price possibly . 1zm2 here , going after a balanced cable for them could be a thing

I agree with all read : slightly dark , soft thick bass , deep enough , not the ultimate bass champion but 50$ ..and makes for a nice stage revb and rumble , remarkable great midrange and separation - highs aren't that bad at low volumes , eq exists too

Quite nicely balanced through ..nice even mellow tone too..💯

@boodi,
Another convert over to the KZ side. Yes, they are a value, not earth-shattering....but nothing at this price point truly is. They are an involving tune with decent technicalities and fun! Glad you coincide with my review thoughts! Thank-you for posting this! Cheers!
