I've been listening to the No 3 daily for the last two weeks, and to me their sound signature is quite similar to the Kanas Pro, but with a bit more bass emphasis. Fake or faulty come to mind as possible explanations why you may be hearing anemic bass with the IEMs, in contrast to what I and others are hearing. In any case, sorry to hear that the IEMs didn't work for you and can't be returned. I'm loving mine.
Thanks for the supportive comment. The same 30% bass boost in Poweramp that can help the KPE had no effect, but turning the knob to 50-60% made them start punching. It's a lot of work to make a $109 DD sound good, and for the same money, the Ikko OH1, to these ears, was a better buy. Just thought people should be aware.
Sounds like you reversed the connections. As the No. 3s do not lack bass
Fitment: the largest provided silicone tips were not suitable for my right ear. Every now and then, the earpiece would start to walk itself out. Looking through my teacup of unused tips, I found the blue, T2 memory foam to be best; I’m not saying that the blue tips will solve your issues. Just that TFZ couldn’t provide tips for every possible ear cavity.
