Yes, it's funny how the bass seems to align better after you listen a while. What helped me was source, and different tips. I found the included Sony Hybrid Tips to be the single greatest deficit to arriving at midrange satisfaction. Switching to wide-bore seemed to do the trick? To me it's like it's own smoky nightclub. Some like it better than the XBA-Z5? I don't, but that is fascinating none the less.
