Great review mate! Like you, I pretty much bought the “Tesla” first, and have been wondering ever since what other TOTL IEM's have to offer. I'll finally be able to go and have a listen to a few in the next couple of weeks, but I reckon it will take something quite special/different to knock the Z1R off it’s perch.

@Neweymatt
Thank you! Totally agree with you, at this moment waiting a bit for a new one to be release might worth the wait - though we wont know whats in the product line for all those iem producer!

The gatekeeper. Simply the best I've heard by a distance. I use the Lavricable with mine. Far better sound than the standard cable.

I laughed quite hard at your car analogy, because every Tesla driver thought they had the best electric car until they drive the Jaguar I-PACE for the first time. Most of my mates sold their Tesla almost immediately.

I agree with your wife about the Sony, they have changed my perspective towards their products since they improved on their voicing for the last decade.

Enjoy the IEMs. They should serve you for a while until a bigger technology breakthrough comes along, or they change the voicing of their product. Cheers.

Imo the anole vx is the best ba iem and the z1r is the best hybrid. The only two iems you need in life!

Hello! I know I'm kind of late to this, but what kind of cables are you using on your z1r? I've been looking all over for aftermarket cables for my pair, but I can't seem to find any that give me the right fit.
