Great review of a very much under-appreciated headphone.  Just one point, the cable is in fact removeable.  It terminates in a 2.5mm plug which has its own housing, it just pulls out of the body of the headphone.  Sennheiser sells a replacement stock cable, and you can get after-market straight cables on eBay for very reasonable prices and with a choice of lengths.  There is a thread here on Head-Fi about it, but you can also see here for an example of the one that I bought.
