Very nice and well written review.
I too got a Lyr 2 for Christmas and did not care for the stock tubes.Mine were GE and the labeling was worn off on one off them.I initialy replaced tubes with Amperex orange labels which sounded much better that the GE's,but still did not care for the sound.Just received some Voshkod 77 Rockets from a member here and the amp sounds much better even though I have only had one session with them.
I have the Lyr 2 paired with Hifiman He-400's.
