A very nice write-up.

Thanks for the review. You REALLY should try the Loxjie P20 balanced hybrid amp for $100. I use it with balanced headphones, with the Khadas Tone2 (balanced) serving as DAC. I wouldn't be surprised if you liked it even more

6N1P. 1965 Black plate, is what I have. Rare, and the best sounding 6N1P there is.

Triple mica Foton 6N1P is a very highly regarded tube, as well.

Early 6BQ7 tubes, black plate in RCA are very good sounding tubes. Some of the later ones, so-so. I have many NOS and you have to know what to look for.

Impressive review. I also purchased a Schiit Vali 2+ direct from the USA (with appropriate voltage and WallWart) to compliment my Darkvoice.
(Currently running Mullard 6080 and a Raytheon 6SN7)
I purchased it primarily to run my lower impedance cans and IEM's
My headphones are similar to yours. LCD2 Fazor, HD650, X2HR and Focal Clears and DT880 600Ohms. Dac is an RME ADI-2 fs.
Now I have a Shuguang Treasures CV181Z Premier Grade on it's way for the Darkvoice.
I also have a converter for the Vali2+ to run 6SN7 tubes.

My question is.
Is there a risk of running the Shuguang on the Vali2+ given typical 6SN7 heaters draw about 0.6A and the CV181z draws about 0.9A (900mA)?

@ScuseMe

Sorry for interfering but I don't think that you can run this kind of tubes safely on the Vali 2+.
Typical 6922 heater current is 300mA.
So even if you don't blow it you are going to stress the power supply.
