I don't know of many other traditional headphone amplifiers that come with a remote. I understand that it unconventionally can power speakers, but that feature should be considered as a bonus. Also, the amp is bound to open up some and improve over time. If you don't believe in products burning in, consider it your brain burning in to acclimatize itself to the sound.

I don't believe in burn in... But if after 100 hrs of burn in it has a sleek interface and remote, I'll be a believer.
