I use black rubber, stretchable circular rings (sorry but the exact product name escapes me now) from the hardware store for the volume control nob on my Asgard 2. No heat problem, easier to turn the nob and dresses up the look of the amp.

The 846 IEMs are quite efficient, so I am wondering what if any benefit the Rag provided there. I'd be worried about hiss or noisen with such efficient IEMs. Not to mention a real lack of travel on the volume know.

I didn't get any hiss on low gain, sounded great to me, though certainly not necessary, a portable amp does just about as well with them.

Good read. Just get those KEF's on stands - surface reflections from the table will mess up the staging bigtime.

Not sure what the LS50s are sitting on, but I have had good luck with the Auralex products for monitors and subwoofers.

I think saying it runs hot is a bit of an overstatement. Not like you can cook an egg on it. Resting a hand is no problem. Carrying it can get uncomfortable I'm sure but like you said, not burning hot. It was no hotter than a Valhalla that had been on for 6+ hours when I felt it.

hum is really bad things to have in amp. that means there is over flow of electricity is going through the internal circuit. you should ask ****t for replacement

@goldendarko, great, I would love to hear your impressions. I would more love to actually hear the combination, but the new Schiit isn't on my horizon.

If the amp is Class A, you can expect it to run hot. No getting around the laws of physics. Maybe bigger heatsinks could help, but those add expense.

Listening to Raggy right now with my HE-560's. Bottom line: absolutely lights them up!

Thinking it is getting very close to time to order a Rag. Are they officially on sale now or still beta?

How does HE560 sound pair with ragnarok :)

HE-560's sound excellent with the Ragnarok, very dynamic headphone, good tight bass and does treble excellent well too. A tad recessed in the mids though to me, at least compared to my LCD-3s.

Are you able to elaborate on how you have the REL T-7 and LS50's connected to the Ragnarok?  I wanted to run a 2.1 setup off it at my desk using the LS50's and a sub but was unsure of the best way to connect it.  Using the speaker outputs for the LS50's along with the SE output for my sub seemed like the best to me at first but I was worried about the LS50's as a "large" setup when I already have the sub doing the low end.
