Great review!! What were they thinking with that ear guide portion?? At least it can be changed out. Not something I would consider for purchase either :) Just not on board with RHA's direction as of late.

Thanks man :) The ear guide is a little odd. Definitely prefer what they did with the CL750. The formed tube design works really well when done right. Rhapsodio did a great job with it on the Clipper, ADVANCED on the Model 3, and RHA on the CL750.

Just posted mine - I think you'll be a little surprised by measurements of balanced vs single ended (there are no differences in frequency response). And I'm afraid for this lover of a brighter signature - the CL1 is too much without EQ for me.

with such treble, i do not understand how you can enjoy the mids of it? cheers.

With EQ it actually sounds pretty good Ric.  And if the music is recorded without too many treble peaks (ie is recorded as quite dark, warm music) - then i can really understand how someone would love it. Some of Dido's music is quite warm and mellow - and the CL1 even without EQ is pretty good with that.

@Brooko Really enjoyed your review and agree with pretty much everything. They really do need EQ to shine, particularly if the stock sound isn't your thing. But, I think RHA knew this wouldn't be a universally liked sound going in. Would love to read a treble-head's impression of this earphone. I like a bright sound, but this was a too hot for me without EQ.

I'm not surprised the measurements for balanced vs. single-ended are the same. I simply found them smoother and (slightly) less fatiguing when run balanced. No less lopsided in favor of that intense treble.

@audio123 As Brooko said, EQ my friend! I really just enjoyed listening to the insane high-end detail these things could pick up with the stock sound. Couldn't do it for long, but it was entertaining until the fatigue set in.
