Appreciating the VE Asura, like a fine wine.

Fine wines take time to reach their full potential and so does the Asura.  Though the debate will go on and on about how effective burn in really is, I just know how important it is for these earbuds.  They need time to mature. Once burn in is complete, the VE Asura will sing.  Sing high and low with excellent clarity.

*Packaging*

Normally these will come in a nice white box labeled VE, like the one you see in the stock product photos.  I got mine as a sample from VE, so I did not have one to take photos of.

*Accessories*

These come with a bunch of earbud foam covers, different colors and different styles; regular and donut.   All covers are strong and do not rip when placed on the earbud.  Also a nice little black carrying case is included.

*Build*

The earbud housing is typical of most any MX500 style.  It is nicely painted black with VE52ve.cn printed on them in white.  The cable on the other hand, is something quite special.  The cable is constructed of high quality soft plastics that are both extremely tough, yet very pliable.

*Fit*

One size fits all.  Though you can decided what tips will work best for you.  For me, I enjoy a thick earbud foam cover.  This creates a better seal and helps with the overall sound.

*Sound*

Lows – The Asura is a control freak.  This starts with the bass, it is always in check and in place.  Quality over quantity is what you will find down low with the Asura.  You will feel a small punch and a touch of sub bass.  It is quite the nice feet that these little earbuds can perform.

Mids – Neutral and Clear, with fantastic detail and presentation.  The Asura is analytical in its presentation.  Both male and female vocals shine without being forward.  The sense of control and composure continues here in the middle.  Instrument separation is very impressive.

Highs – Just a faint touch of sparkle, but to hear that, you will need to push these a little harder.  They are never syllabant or fatiguing, Instead focusing playing with accuracy and composure.  The real inspiration is the way the Asura handles the upper range with ease.

Soundstage – The Asura is on pair with other earbuds of this type for distance.   Soundstage is satisfactory, though not overly impressive.

Isolation – These are typical earbuds, isolation is not great, nor would it expected to be.

*Overall Thoughts*

VE did an amazing job tuning the Asura.  It is crisp, clean, neutral and with just the right amount of controlled bass.  I am really impressed with what these little buds can do.  They fool you with their small and simple looks, but surprise you with their sophisticated sound signature.  The Asura is a true gem.

Thanks for the nice Review.

Even I wanted to own a GEM of VE. But feel that VE's selling process is halted. Hope they will resume selling soon after resolving their issues.

Thanks for the review. I wonder should I buy the Asura if I already have the nice Mrice E100 ?
Could you give some comparison with the E100 in sound-sign and overall performance ?
