You described exactly how this driver behaves in a plastic MX500 shell. This is a very interesting cheap driver which has great potential.
On DIY Earbuds thread we discussed that for these DIY drivers it would be of great benefit in terms of sound enhancement to use pure silver cables,
possibly balanced 2.5mm or 4.4mm.

@RikudouGoku Hmmm... price is the problem. This driver is around 15$, the shell is free (goes with the driver), cable 7-15$. If the MX500 version costs around 50$, who knows how much the version with a metal shell or with the MMCX would cost. Probably around 100$ more or less.
consider the Monk VEs..... 10 bucks or so at AMZN and great sounding with excellent separation ....... I buy them 2 at a time and give them to friends using generic earbudS....great value for dollar
