hi,
i also ordered an amp from them, though a different model (solstice)

did you changed output settings of your amp? it has 3 settings I believe and they can alter the sound quiet a bit. i heard lowest setting 0.1 ohm almost makes it sound like a solid state amp.

Yeah I played with it a good bit, During my review time of the HD700 I left in on the lowest setting and even toyed with the highest setting and though I completely agree the lowest ohm really helped out, but when I'm in reviewer mode and really listening to every detail a tube amps distortion does become apparent, but in my everyday musical enjoyment I absolutely LOVE the sound and its welcoming warmth. The Solstice was one I came a split hair of buying my only change was most of my headphones I plan on purchasing are all higher impedance.

"A final note on the audio quality, and this one only happens when you initially plug it into your source, and that is that these receive a massive crack, a bang almost it what comes to mind. What I mean by this is when I plug the aux jack say into my computer (or any other device, it consistently happens) there's this extremely loud pop that really sets me back for it is painfully as in physically painfully loud."

Just as an FYI this is an absolute NO-NO with any piece of audio equipment but specially tube components, Never plug-unplug components with the units turned on. These are NOT hot-plugable USB computer cables. A small amount of DC offset in one of them can easily blow the drivers right our of your cans, speakers, input components, etc. Power everything down, let set for a couple minutes for power supply caps to discharge then, connect all cables, etc., then power everything up.

Duly noted, thank you for that makes sense as you described it. Though, and I'm not sure if there's even a possible way to fix that, that's sometimes quite the inconvenience. If you're someone like me who often plugs into multiple media sources, having to walk to the end of the living room to turn the amp off, switch media and then turn the amp. back on is just redundant.

But either way that crack was a minimal effect on the overall score for as I said I don't even know if there's a possible way to fix that.
