Holy moly, what a review!!! I couldn't agree more, and already having most of this stuff you tested, I am now upset I do not have the OSG! Arghhh...i was supposed to be done buying cables!!!

Thank-you so much, it was a labor of love...........and speaking of love, yes....the OSG is really surprising especially when you're telling yourself that there is a level of consistency with the 10th.....and that consistency is its value/virtue. Then the OSG shows up, and tells you who's boss?

The differences in everyone’s opinions on sets is always very intriguing to me. The only thing we’d probably agree on is there really is nothing like it! As a Tenth Anniversary I was stoked to buy this set and was hoping it would finally be the IEM that Penon got right for me. Man was I wrong. It’s probably the biggest let down of any $500ish above set I’ve bought that I was hyped for. And in the scheme of Penon the farthest from actually hitting anything close to my preference. In the Penon line up Serial, even though not idea, is the set that hit it out of the park. 10th Anniversary just seems like a mess of thoughts put together in a rush for their Anniversary in hopes that it would entice us with the bait.

Wow, that’s interesting, I have already read all kinds of positives on this IEM being its been out for 60 days, and not one take like yours, So sorry the 10th didn’t work out for you, as it seems this business is as subjective as anything can be. The Serial is more neutral if you could call it that, a warm neutral, so the 10th has V shape trouble in store?

Some people discuss without writing reviews. In our group of 6 or so that loaned the set around, it did not make good impressions, that’s with people who have a variety of different preferences — and personally the Serial is my favorite set of all time so I’m not anti Penon. When I shared that the reverb was comically blown out of proportion, I got agreement. There were some very bassy sets in the tour (DTE500, EST50) it’s not because people were against a “fun” signature. So far I think everyone preferred the Fan 2, this seems like the clown version of the Fan 2. I would imagine their prices switched.

If I put the Penon sets I’ve heard in order of my preferences:
Serial > Fan 2 > > Volt > 10th > Fan > PAC Buds > Globe > Orb

Its fun in a wacky way but hard to take many tracks seriously with it.

In so many ways this is like a band changing their sound, there will always be the loyal group which take offense and don’t adapt. That’s fine and actually expected. The Sony house sound like the XBA-Z5 or the IER-Z1R come to mind a tiny bit when auditioning the 10th. Yet not quite, as in many ways the 10th is different, still there are similarities to Sony here. Probably the Serial lovers are going to be surprised? But me, I truly believe every word of this review, so there is an audience for this style of Penon, but possibly not all the followers from before?

I Liked ypur review very indepth, hard not to put passion into your own personal bias when you like something.

Your also going to love the Turbo as well my first listen kind of threw me off. I am also listening to the $2000 U12t and $99 Hisenior T2 at the same time.
A V shaped BA set ummmmm first impressions and honeymoon stage needs to wear off but wow factor hit hard!

Also seems like penon did a good job as usual, I hear so many love them because of their sound.
