Spot on. I used to own a pair, but that was back when I was using a LIttle Dot amp so I don't think I was able to get the most out of the t50rp drivers. Main complaint of mine would be that they move around my head too easily
Congratulations for making the first Paradox review.
I was considering these or the newer Slants or the Alpha Dog as potential closed-back planar magnetic headphones. Right now I'm leaning more towards the Paradox's more reference-like sound based on people's descriptions. I'm surprised to hear that the Alpha Dog has more air than the Paradox since I thought the Alpha Dog didn't have much air at all. People's measurements of the Alpha Dog somewhat confirms that observation with a lack of treble extension.
LFF comments on the Slants as a Paradox with a bigger soundstage. I cannot comment on the Slants or the AD's though, but I sure do love my Paradox. I use them everyday. Also, my major caveat with the Paradox is that I cannot put an aftermarket cable on them. @warrenpchi can comment in on how much I love cables.. hehe.
I own the original Paradox (now called the "Classic") and have tried the Slants. No question would I upgrade to the Slants: they retain the same wonderful tonal balance---even gaining a small bit of added bass presence, something I felt the Classic needed---and the soundstage is much more open. They no longer sound like closed headphones to me.
The only reason I'm not upgrading to the Slants? I'm getting LFF's current flagship model, the Code X.
