Seems they did a bulk purchase of overstocked X11s from Klipsch after they introduced the new model and rebranded them. These also seem to have oval tips which cannot be a coincidence. So now finally the X11 are sold at a price they are really worth.

The tips are actually round and just look oval in the picture (camera angle and they might have been slightly squished in the box they came shipped in).

Re: Klipsch X11: That was also what I initially thought, but I can assure you that the people at Pai Audio are just using the same mould design/housings and that the tuning was definitely not based on the Klipsch but the Pai Audio engineers' own.
So the MR1 is no rip-off but an independent product that is just using a very similar design to reduce costs (like Superlux also does for example). If it was no independent product with discrete sound tuning, I can assure you I wouldn't have accepted to review it.

Looking at the frequency response of the Klipsch (http://img1.lesnumeriques.com/test/84/8461/x11i-freqrep.jpg), it has got definitely more upper treble and less 3 kHz presence than the MR1.
