Good review,  I had them as a part of the oppo loaner program and was very pleased.  They are on the buy list...

Awesome review man, very well written and quite entertaining as well. We have similar "that's nice dear" fiancee's haha

Thanks everybody!
MWS,
pretty sure I was next in line right after you on the loaner, thanks for sending them in such good condition! Every time I go to Oppo's refurb section, get that twinge in my wallet!

Voxie and Firedawg,
I tried to do something different in the review, show "why" if possible while not being boring. Glad you thought it worked! I wanted to show what the headphones looked like when worn, do you guys think the self-portrait was a good idea?

Absolutely.  As dorky as it seems (sorry), it's definitely good to see headphones actually on someone's noggin to give us a proper idea of where we'd be on the looking-stupid scale :)

Actually if ya don't mind I may steal the self portrait idea for my next review. Gives a reasonable sense of scale in relation to ones head.

What an absolutely gorgous set of cans!  If I had a need and wasn't totally in love with my HD 650s the credit card could be in trouble.

Excellent Review, I totally agree PM-2 has very comfortable sound and wear.  Especially for long hours of use.
Use the lamb leather for extra hmmp on bass and treble.
Use velour for more analitical sound.

Pedalhead,
Perhaps I've read too much of the "Typical Head-Fi'er Andy" thread, but I appreciate your encouragement to keep on!

Army,
Go ahead (ba-dum, CHA!) I don't mind...
Btw I wasn't intending to copy your photo backdrop, it just so happens that my bedsheets are brown, so...

Sal1950,
Well, if you heard a PM-2, you'd want one. The HD650 specifically colors the sound (in a way most find pleasingly musical), while the PM-2 compliments it very well with a much more balanced sound. Drop the veil, increase the decay speed and apparent detail, but still have a headphone that isn't fatiguing to listen to... I would put the PM-2 ahead of the HD700 for detail and realism, without the odd treble spike which irritates some people (didn't bother me), and a better deal and recommendation for the price easily.
