This or H7's?

That would depend. Technically I think the H7 would have cleaner bass, not by much, but it would be more balanced. That said, the H500 is the more portable of the two and sounds extremely good. As I said, the tuning of the H500 is clearly moving the bass up, but it is done quite well I find, and the overall balance is again quite good so it pulls it off. I found it didn't take long at all to really quickly enjoy the presentation of the H500. Both are great and for me I would be happy with either.

The H7 does have a more premium feel, but it is slightly less portable. For instance, in the heat of the summer I can't wear the H7 much at all due to the circumaural design, but the H500 being on ear is quite a bit cooler and I can wear it during the summer.

Thanks for the detailed review and answer!

It's very helpful as it's close to impossible for me to audition the H500. Looking for a Bluetooth headphone as I think that's the way headphones will be trending in the future. Also a lot more convenient than with all the cables. Although the Audeze Sine is making me think very hard on whether to go with the H7.

Thanks again!

@uL7iMa, yes indeed, Bluetooth is the future, or some other wireless protocol. I wouldn't expect wired headphones to dominate portable headphones much going forward, the reverse will be true. Bluetooth will only get better, and it is already quite good. Cheers and let me know what headphone you go with.

Thanks for your reviews! I've tried the H7, which sounds really good, but I was looking for something more portable and lighter. I've been thinking about the Bose Soundlink On-Ear, the Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear,  and the Onkyo H500. Do you think that the H500 won't disappoint after getting used to the H7?
