Funny, because this amp always sounded very bright with my headphones, something I like with some (but not all) of my headphones. Just to point out, it isn't really a hybrid amp. It shouldn't matter at all, but I know some people will fuss over details like that so it's best to point it out.
@thanderbird thanks @erich6 using the default tubes they sound quite similar and the main difference would be the footprint. The advantage of the NS-08E is that you can easily change the tubes where with the NS-01E you have to disassemble the whole thing, then remove the bottom plate to take the tube out.
@TeamHiFiMAN yeah it's not the most flattering brand name but I do think it's memorable It is, for whatever reason the company's English naming scheme. I really don't know why they didn't just use the same Chinese name "XuanZu", perhaps they (rightly) assumed that most English speakers would not know how to pronounce it correctly.
@crabdog Thanks for the reply. Looks like NS-08E might be better to try out tube amps then. I don't need the smaller form factor and easier tube rolling will be better.
@LazyListener burn-in isn't really needed but I gave it about 10 hours initially. Before listening warm up at least 15-20 seconds to avoid a pop in your headphones then just start using it. IMO it sounds a bit better after its been on10 or so minutes.
