I'm currently looking at possibly purchasing a new DAP this looks interesting. Would really like something with bluetooth. How is the bluetooth on the FiiO X1ii? I read an Amazon review that said the bluetooth is really poor.

I have this player. Do ogg files work? Mine doesn't seem to play them. 44Khz, around Q7. Firmware date is 24.09.2016.

Never mind the ogg playback.  I ripped all my ogg into flac (well, not the ogg files, the actual CDs).  So this player forced me to use the better option, which was inevitable.  After some use, I quite like this player now.
The only major issue for me is the track sorting.  If you browse by tag, you can go artist>album>songs (however you get there), but the tracks are not sorted in tracknumber order but in alphabetical order.  Then comes the file browser:  It seems to sort folders according to date modified - so the last modified items are listed below.  This is were alphabetical should be used.  I really hope somehow it can be looked at, but not too sure it ever will.

@crabdog  thanks for the review.have ordered  one from Ali express, exclusively for the battery life..Fed up with high end players with very less battery life, having to carry the charger everywhere..I have ordered it from the below link , which says it is an upgraded version..Do you have any idea how it differs from yours ?

@Pradeep A thank you. I don't know what the upgraded version is. It seems like they're saying that has an independent DAC and if the hardware has been upgraded that would make it even better value. It could just mean that the Firmware has been updated though. :)

@crabdog  Thanks..What IEMs are you using with it .?? Would be helpful if you can suggest a good chinese IEM for under 50USD to go with it..I mostly listen to rock, acoustic , electronica and jazz.

@Pradeep A I was using it with TFZ Balance 2M and LZ A4 but my wife loves it so she uses it now. For under $50 you could try the MEMT X5 or Tennmak Crazy Cello.

Just received my one, about an hour ago. Surprisingly, or maybe not, my package contained different things. No silicone case, no silicone tips. I got a grey fabric bag instead, almost useless compared to the silicone case, and my complimentary earphones are completely different from yours, crabdog. They still sound quite decent, tho. Also, the "Hi Res" sticker was glued directly on the SD card slot, was really difficult to remove without schratching the player, to be able to put a different card in it. After about an hour of listening, i discovered one weird thing. By certain albums, if i click on a song to listen to, the player starts playing a digfferent song, but i still see on the display the title of the original song i wanted to listen to. I hope you guys understand, what i mean. I used this SD card, collection of music in 4 other DAP's also, and never had the same issue. The player definitely needs firmware improvements, but still, sounds very good, feels solid, looks nice... A real bang for buck.

@Tomtattoo I've never encountered that song issue before. Do you know which firmware version you're running?

@crabdog Software version V 1.101.10 Modify time: 2016-11-15. And i discovered some other issues. As i mentioned, i use the same SD card i use in my Fiio X3II, very well organized collection, with all the titles, album art, etc. My Fiio (and other daps too), reads and shows every single album, song, title in a perfect order, shows all the album covers, etc. The Nintaus does not recognize some complete albums, shows "no artist", etc, and some songs too. And, on top of that, does not show album art of several albums. I should spend some time to check out which albums, songs exactly, maybe i could find a correlation and a solution, but it doesn´t bother me that much, to be fair. After a few weeks of use, i still love the little thing, it could do with a bit more power maybe, but i´m getting more and more amazed by the battery life. I use it solely on maximum volume, and honestly, i don´t even remember the last time when i had to charge it... By the way. do you know maybe about any firmware update?

My only real complaint about this player is the battery indicator is wildly inaccurate, its probably exacerbated by the long life as I used to just charge a player every night whereas can go a few days without charging the X10

Hey there Crabdog, I have both Nintaus X10 and Morbo C5 V2 sitting in my cart at Penon. I'm just waiting to pull the trigger. If it were you making the call based on everything you've written about both, which would it be? I'm just plain torn. If it were both, I'd tspend a bit extra and try the Cayin N3, but it's not.)

@Inasilentway: As far as i know, crabdog did not write a review about the Mrobo C5 V2, just about the V1. Which i also have, and believe me, that one sounds absolutely horrible, while the Nintaus (which i also have)  sounds awesome, considering the very low price. If the Mrobo C5 V2 has the same sound signature as the first version, then don´t even think about ordering it. The Nintaus is a right choice, you won´t be disappointed with the sound, the build quality, etc. Only the Ui, which is a bit funny, but you can get used to it easily.

@Tomtatto. Thanks so much for correcting an inacurracy on my part. Crabdog has been writing comments in the Obscure Chinese DAP thread about C5 v2, its improved sound and other operational changes. Hence, my request for an opinion. Your informed comments on the Nintaus are most welcome, and persuasive-- especially reading through your comments abicve on its quirks are really instructive too. I truly appreciate the recommendation. Thank you.
