My pair seem to have improved with time, I've had them for a few weeks and have used them on and off. I find the sound to be very addictive. Sure, they are not quite TOTL compared to many of the popular Western and Japanese brands, but if this was four or five years ago, they would be in the same ballpark.

At the current price that HCK offers, these sound great. One more thing, I asked HCK for a balanced cable, which they sent. That cable, at least to my ears, actually seems pretty good. I've been using my new IBasso DX120 as a source. I had used the DX200 when I first got it and didn't really like that match-up at the time.

As Dsnuts has stated, these have a great engaging natural tone, very likeable, and one that I find is perfect for an earphone that costs hundreds of dollars less than comparable earphones from the big brands (many of which I own as well).
