"M3 seems to offer equal level of loudness be it from the SE or BAL port. Switching between the two, I don’t have to adjust the volume at all and this is actually amazing. It means M3 pay equal attention to both ports."
Does It simply mean that M3 is not a balanced dongle, and 4.4 mm ports is just an embedded connector?
Muse Hi Fi did not publish any power numbers that would further suggest this scenario.
What would be your take/opinion on it based on your remarkable dongle experience?
@PhonoPhi Thanks. I have no idea really how they implemented it. But yes since it is running on single DAC chip it is not a true balanced output. Which is not uncommon. There are many other dongles built that way, they run on single DAC yet they have BAL jacks. They worked the amp section to provide weaker output on SE with impedance adjustment and thus making it suitable for sensitive IEMs. Food for thought, a Quad DAC dongle like Ovidius B1 only has SE, so does the most powerful dongle of CEntrance DACport HD
