Thanks for the kind words. I find I need to be listening to acoustic recordings in order to make meaningful and repeatable judgements. Otherwise, there is no baseline and one is simply left with a particular system+recording synergy.

Have you had the shure SE846s by any chance? Are these larger (width or height) and more bulbous (thicker shell)? I have minor issue fitting shure in terms of size but just a tiny bit smaller would be perfect.
