Nice write up, thanks. One thing I haven't seen mentioned here is that Meze has discontinued the old Alcantara pads and replaced them with the angled ones. So fans of the old Alcantara pads might want to get an additional pair until the stock lasts.

Thank you for reading.
I didn't know about being discontinued and I think that it is a bad move.
The original Alcantara pads are midway between the other two, at least for the Elite.

Great review... sums up how I felt. The Elites really do provide to alternatives in one. Loving classical, jazz and acoustical music with these new pads. The bass is so tight and detailed!

An excellent review! I had the angled Alcantara pads for a week, and I agree with your assessment of them. Before I got the new pads, I primarily used the hybrid pads, and welcome the extra detail, clarity, and soundstage of these angled pads.

You review matches my experiences 100%
I have both, but started to use og alcantara pads in the end as I find those more fun.
I will however every once in a while switch to angled pads for change.

I am glad that our experiences coincide.
I am a devoted classical music listener so I am happy with the angled pads but some times I switch to the hybrids for more heft on the sound.
