Great Review, thanks. I really like these headphones. Master & Dynamic "great company". I e-mailed them through customer support, not with a problem but a suggestion and got a quick response.

Glad you like my review!

M&D is definitely innovative, dedicated and a unique brand. I sincerely hope they will succeed in their goal, and keep us wondering by their thinking caps :)

Nice review, but I have to disagree with the statement "It has a top notch build which is as good as any Summit-Fi headphones" when the photos clearly show inconsistencies with the headband and ear-pad stitching as the resulting shapes are not uniform and quite wrinkled in places.

I'm surprised that even a headphone of this price level can't get stitching right.

Let me elaborate,

MH30's are hand made, So, headbands, earpads are stitched one-by-one, in hand. Also the 'inconsistencies' you see is because of employment of pure leather.

Obviously, leather materials will have wrinkles and they wont be uniform :)

Being the owner of the Sennheiser Momentum with it's uniformly stitched leather ear pads, I have to once again disagree.

Sure you may disagree, But I am sure you wont disagree once you own the MH30's

Uniformity/wrinkles generally indicate the type/quality of leathers used. More wrinkles & non-uniformity means the leather is very soft and ear-friendly (which is the case here).

MH30's use pure cowhide leather, which is really soft, sensitive and it wrinkles/adopts shape even with a slight touch, Which is  definitely a positive aspect.

MH30's are very unique. As I have reviewed these, I conclude MH30's have a Top notch build.

Cowhide? That's nice.
I'll just have to learn to live with envy... and my lambskin Momentums.

Thank you for your excellent review and I look forward to listening to a set. My only thought is the idea that it matters if these headphones were designed in new York! The fact that they were made off shore is the problem and I long for the day when Americans can wrap there head around the idea of made in America. That said, the design features everything that I am looking for in metal and leather. Once again, Thanks

Good stuff, but the sound characteristics of the bass is confusing in this review. At one point you mention the lows are laid back and relaxed on the other hand you say the bass is accurate, tight, refined, possesses strong impact and depth. Now those are completely opposite observations.

Yes, Lows are presented in a laid back & relaxed fashion when compared to mids.

When we solely consider the Lower frequencies alone, the lows are tight, accurate, and have a strong impact & depth.

Okay. What do you mean byy laid back then, is it recessed compared to the mids or does it require EQ-ing to sound louder. Cause if the bass and the highs are laid back compared to the mids, that would mean it has a pyramid structured sound across the spectrum.

And does amplification help the sound at all?

The sonic presentation is MH30 is in such away that, Lows being perceived to ears are a touch submissive when compared to Mids. No EQ'ing required, the lows are strong enough already. The sound being perceived by ears does not necessarily mean the MH30 should actually have a pyramid shaped graph in theory.

Maybe the word "laid-back" is being used differently than the music definition?
Laid-back - Recessed, distant-sounding, having exaggerated depth, usually because of a dished midrange. Compare "Forward".

Hey @YoYo JoKeR, great review mate, but how would these compare sound wise to the Thinksound on1 that you reviewed a while ago? Sporting those cans at the moment and I'm curious about how they size up to these :)
