Nice detailed review. One suggestion though: you can consider the track "Why So Serious" from The Dark Knight OST, specifically from 03:26 timing mark, for subbass.

@Ace Bee Thanks! My testing tracks are tracks I am very familiar and have a lot of experience with. So unlikely I add something I never heard before.

Great review, thanks for the detailed write up. I beleive you prefer A6 over A7? Outta curiosity For purely listening to extreme metal death/black what would you pick under $350

@Vruksha I dont listen to those genres but I believe they require extremely fast and tight bass right? in that case I recommend the A6 BUT it has moisture issues so its hard for me to really recommend it. The A7 should be good for it too as it is extremely versatile.

I honestly cant decide which one I prefer out of the A6 and the A7, but they are both at the apex.

Thanks, maybe just considered Ride the lightning album..which iems should be your perfect pick for this classic album? Looking for great resolution, technicality and good tonality. Any other options to consider in the same price bracket?

@Vruksha Then I would take the A7 as stated in the review vs the A6. As for other options in and under this price range, amongst the iems I have I would take the A7 over them all in those factors you pointed out.

But maybe you should wait for 11/11 and hopefully by then, there will be more comparisons out. As there are a lot of new iems coming out right now, so by 11/11 hopefully we have managed to weed out the bad from the good so you know what to look at.

Wow! I had few options in my mind like Oxygen, B2, JVC fdx1 which am very sure you have tried at some point. Your comments just bought the A7 on top over these iems. Particularly as the ideal choice for listening to metal without sacrificing on any frequency. I am not planning for a blind buy will wait till 11/11. My NM2+ will be delivered today, hoping I like the sound.

@Vruksha Yes I have the B2 and the oxygen. The Oxygen is superior to the B2 for me, but the A7 is better for almost every track I tried vs the oxygen.

The NM2+ should have a somewhat similar signature to the Oxygen/B2. So I think those 2 are redundant for you to get if you already have the NM2+ (assuming based on others since I dont have the NM2+).

But take your time and research more about your other options, like the Thieaudio L5, Fearless audio tequila and maybe even the upcoming Shuoer Tape 2 (should be released before 11/11 according to BGGAR).

I might be too cautious with my recommendation on the A7 (nothing wrong and definitely my nr 1 rec right now) but you know, "The grass is always greener on the other side" :joy:

Haha I know! My favorite iem is S8f for everything extreme metal to jazz/prog. I am looking for a budget option with similar sound and technicalities. Thanks for your suggestions. Tape 2 is something I am surely looking forward for, hope it doesn't come with QC issues and maybe more mid presence this time. Good to know that it's coming soon. I am patient. For now I can't wait to get my hands on NM2+

Nice review. Thanks. I really liked the analysis of the various filters. I am still surprised how much I can like three filters out of the five. I would never have expected that.

10 different tuning options, wow. Guess I can never go wrong with these.

@jmwant Exactly and even more if you get the filters for the A6 lol. :joy:

You consider this one better than the FH3? Like, overall better?

Also, comparing it to the blon bl 03, which one has the thicker sound in the mids and mid to highs, the FH3 or the LZA7?
RikudouGoku
RikudouGoku
@MikonJuice Yes, overall it is better. More refinement on all aspects. The only times I pick the FH3 over the A7 is if I want to listen to sub-bass focused songs like EDM or trance.

Do you know if it is running-sensitive??? (A5 and A6 mini are sensitive to humidity - the right side of both ceased to work during running - at least one of the drivers...)
RikudouGoku
RikudouGoku
@dottormorte They should have fixed that problem according to LZ. I have not gotten any problems with it (but then again, I never had that problem with the A6 either).
