Quite informative and interesting review, thanks! Twister, could you write a couple of lines more about L5P's lows (quantity\speed\overall control\decay)?
I'm, kind of, more on the basshead side that's why after reading some reviews on Cayin N6 (did not have an opportunity to audition it) I decided not to buy it, notwithstanding all its advantages. Now I'm curious about comparison of N6 and L5Pro lows performance...

@Bellyworshipper : considering your "basshead" preference, either one would be fine.  They both have an excellent bass quantity and quality, and will not limit the low end extension, both have a good control, L5P has a slightly better decay while N6 will be a little faster.  But all this is irrelevant.  Your need good basshead headphones, and I can re-assure you that neither N6 nor L5P will be a limiting factor to get that bass slam.  My personal preference goes for L5P.  N6 is great, but when you really compare one to the other, L5P sounds more analog, more musical, while N6 is more digital, a little sharper.

An excellent Twister6 review. I love all L&P's DAP sound quality, and now with the latest model, they they offer a much better UI and improved SQ. In sound quality, the L5pro ranks among the very top, comparable to the AK380.

Great review!
One thing I do want to mention is that, currently for mobile devices, there are three ways to measure battery percentage.
1. Through battery voltage level, which hifi devices should avoid as much as possible, a battery with unstable voltage level is not suitable for HIFI usage.
2. Through projection of past data, which is a very inaccurate way to "calculate" battery percentage. Some older phones used this method, pretty much junk method.
3. Use two added resistors to both end of battery and calculate current etc on the resistor, this is what modern phones are using, maybe some DAPs i don't know. This is still a undesirable method since adding unnessary resistors to the circuit usually provide downgrade effect to the sound.

Just my two cents,
John

Thanks, Twister. For now my Sony XBA-H3 sound "basshead" enough with DX 90MM so I'm going to use them as a reference point

Seriously "Audiophile DAPs" are the worst in design, all ugly offending dessigns (fiio x5II excluded from this rant as it is the only decent looking player)
