Magnificent review! Wonderfully clear and packed with solid information. Beautifully written and highly credible. As you know, I am also stunned by the sound quality of this magic little amplifier.
Your point about cymbals NOT sounding like an aerosol can being sprayed is a crucial one for me. The same goes for your point about the sound being detailed without being fatiguing or phony. I interpret this as a higher level of RESOLUTION for this amplifier (and for the HE-1000s). This means that there is actually more more information presented instead of a false sense of detail provided by sizzle or a false sense of impact provided by boominess. It's NOT like turning up the contrast knob on a television to get the (false) appearance of a sharper picture. The (sonic) picture really is sharper with the MicroZOTL 2.
