Hello, Is the pad acual foam (gradolike) or velour, and how is it attached to the cup?

Foam is a lot like Grado foam. Pad was part of the unit I think. I didn't disassemble it though. It could probably be modded to have different pads, but the size would be the challenge. L-Cush pads probably would fit, come to think of it.

I was more thinking about using the pads with another headphones, koss sells all the pads for dirty cheap, $5 the pair of the lower models iirc. so they are the same size as the L-cush?
