Kinera (H3, Idun and Idun DeLuxe) have been some of my favorite IEMS years ago. Their trying at higher models often found me dubious and this (as some Odin reviews) keep on confirming the impression.

Thanks for the review bro. I have the beta tuning version and it had tamed treble and more bass, kinda liked that tuning as it was not that fatiguing. Based on your feedback, won't be getting the final version man, I'm scared of sibilance and sharp treble.

Nice pictures, I appreciate the honest review.
However, I'm on the opposite boat. I find the Freya to be quite bassy with a non-trivial amount of mid-bass bloat. I don't seem to have the same bad treble experience as you.
I'm using my normal used tips, Final M.

@FcConstruct did u get a preproduction unit or a final release version? I received a preproduction sample and it was bassy with midbass bloat and a somewhat tamed treble. I really liked that non fatiguing tuning.

I haven't heard the final version but was told by a Kinera rep the final version had boosted treble. But seems they may have possibly overcooked the treble.

@baskingshark I believe I got a final release version. Mine was sent by HiFiGo and they didn't indicate that it was a pre-production unit.
I don't find mine to have too much of a tamed treble. It's adequate; not overly bright but not too suppressed either.

not surprise for 3 star, As usual kinera don’t know how to tuned.

@FcConstruct When did they send yours? Both me and baskingshark got ours without being told it was a "beta" unit. We only found out after a while that they were going to retune it. (our beta unit didnt come with all the nice accessories, only a cable and tips (no final type E tips)).

Thanks for the review, but for some reason, it doesn't match my own experience at all. I also got it from HiFiGo but I can barely detect any sibilant voices or excessive brightness to talk of. Sounds tamer and fuller in tone than let's say Moondrop Starfield to me. Wondering if this might be a bad pairing (I tried mine with both EarMen TR-Amp and Hidizs Sonata HD II DAC dongle) or maybe even QC issue.
Anyway, I'll be posting my own impressions soon but they're going to be quite different as I'm enjoying these quite a bit.

@Aibo That souns completely different... (I have the Moondrop KXXS and freya is way brighter and much more painful.)

@RikudouGoku Mine was shipped about a week ago. I guess mine would be the retail package as I have all the included accessories and packaging.

@FcConstruct Well if you like it then I guess you are lucky. Hopefully it isnt a case of unit variantion because it sounds pretty different.
