Great review here. Was wondering if just connecting a USB external drive with audio files would be sufficient to make this a standalone transport, feeding a headphone amp directly from it's analog RCA outputs. I know you mentioned the DAC is on the weaker side compared to it's use as a transport. I have a Burson HA-160DS which would take input from an external DAC/player only so wondering if it's even worth considering over using the USB input being fed from my PC.
