@amanieux Not that. What I am trying to say is, non independent volume adjustment means that the DAC/Amp is totally reliant on the host volume control limitations, in this case AP10 is at the mercy of the big gap jump of stock Android SRC - like going from 9 to 10 would exhibit big loudness change that can make highly sensitive IEMs becoming shouty (distort). To mitigate this, it is possible to use HIBY Music software control or UAPP volume steps, otherwise it is almost unusable for anything sensitive

Do anyone knows if this dac/amp supports mic? Lost my Meizu HiFI and now i'm searching for something with mic support, because I use it only when I'm traveling or work in office.

@OspreyAndy How does one access their playlist on HiBy Music App once created? This operation doesn't appear intuitive but otherwise a really nice app.

I highly suggest buying the UAPP app, well worth the money with the add-ons
OspreyAndy
OspreyAndy
@carliber1 Unfortunately HiBy Playlist are not dynamic and stored locally. But at least you can export it out

@OspreyAndy need a help. I am getting Jcally AP-90 and AP-10 almost similar prices. I am using warm sounding iems like Kiwi Cadenza and headphones like Meze 99 Classics or can go for Hifiman Edition XS headphones near future. Do you think higher voltage output of AP 90 can help ?
T
tubbymuc
In theory yes.

how's the distortion while driving the fostex?
OspreyAndy
OspreyAndy
@Mackarell no distortion that I am hearing, all clean. I don't listen to high loudness anyways and that helps with avoiding distortions

I no longer see your ap10 review on your YouTube channel is there a problem ap10 ?
OspreyAndy
OspreyAndy
@amanieux AP10 was never done on YouTube, AP90 yes. I just started my YouTube Channel 2 months back and this AP10 review was done before that

@tubbymuc I own the UAPP app, its a good app but sounds more warm (albeit needlessly so) than HiBy Music app which sounds neutral to me - I do not use Eq. Just the same, thanks man!

@OspreyAndy I probably didn't explain clearly enough, I meant the following: it was easy enough creating my playlist in the HiBy app, now what actual proceedure enables me to listen to the playlists I created? This latter is the part that isn't as intuitive.

Hey, can it power Audio Technica R70X? since its not planar im guessing it can, but i still doubt it
OspreyAndy
OspreyAndy
@Mackarell I don't have RX70X so I would not be able to say how it will work with AP10

Ah okay, anyway ive tried it on my HE400SE and it sounds very clear on 78/100 volume while using oratory1990 eq and with -9,5db pre amp. So i guess its a decent product.

So...
A lot of people are asking, so maybe I could ask too.
AP10 can power a Hifiman Sundara properly, or I should buy a desktop amp?
OspreyAndy
OspreyAndy
@FaoPinho Yes it can, just like many other 2 Vrms and above dongles. The only difference would be the synergy factor of how suitable they pair, power or loudness not an issue. Sundara is more efficient than HE400SE or T40RP MK3
