I think some of your impressions would make the negative list, but otherwise a solid review!

No noise hiss on the IEM's in either SE or BAL? That early report has been my only reservation. Xbass and bass + presence or the stage function is all fine and well... but the iEmatch issue between SE and Bal seemed to be a thing that was topological to the implementation.

I tested 4.4mm balance only with FIR VXV, I wrote about it above in the review. And I did not notice the noise in my script and my headphones, iem, ciem.

I posted a comment yesterday unfavorably comparing a few specs with the old Black Label, and some people responded, but Head-Fi appears to have deleted my post and theirs.

That's because you posted them on my review, not this one.

I've been looking for something that's significantly better than my current Black Label. I found that when I hooked up my AK4499 device to the BL, I did not see any improvement in sound quality after the amplification. That' why I started looking at specs.

Ok. But when I clicked on my personal tab and saw that there were responses, nothing at all came up. Did you delete them?

I have no ability to delete posts. Personally though I believe comparing THD numbers doesn't paint much of a picture when comparing the two devices - which I've done extensively.

I paddy. If you're looking for something "significantly better" you're not going to find it.

All you are going to find are different flavors and spend alot more money. Cayin offers tube hand helds, there are R2R hand helds. Chord does FPGA with proprietary filters and conversion. The Chord offerings are also as unwieldy as a black label (technically portable but not pocketable).

At the end of the day look at power requirements, battery life, input connections and output connections. Features and quality of life will be more important than minutia of subjective "gains" for hundreds or thousands more.

I wish Ifi updated their mid-tier offerings, because now its these mini budget hip-dacs (and that new mini dac amp, I can't seem to remember the name of) to these expensive tier dac-amps like the Gryphon, Signature and Diablo. I need something between those like the OG Ifi idsd and xdsd offerings were....

A comparison with the equivalent and cheaper Xduoo X-05 BAL would be really appreciated.

I have a portable amp that I may combine with xCAN, the small portable amplifier. Is the amp in xCAN performing as well as the amp in xDSD Gryphon?

A comparison with the Xduoo XD-05 BAL would definitely be great !

MalinYamato I think this is comparable in the case of LO. Otherwise, Gryphon is better.

gilles caraguel I don't have XD-05 BAL, but compared to xd-05 plus and xd-05 basic, Gryphon wins.

Line Out

I really don't understand what you mean by line out. Do you mean if I connect Gryphons line out to XCAN, it will sound almost the same?
