Thanks for this great and informative review! I've also had the DX50 and still have the DX90 (which I often use as a transport on my Hugo). The DX80 will be my next purchase, also because of its 2x microsd card slots, both optical + coaxial out and improved battery life.
At this price it seems to be a steal

I approve of iBasso getting into the more competitive price-range of FiiO X5 and Cayin N5. With a full touch-screen interface, it could steel a lot of sales from the others.

@Kerouac @PinkyPowers The only thing holding this review back from giving straight 5 stars was the firmware still requiring stabilization. If that was sorted as this review was written the rest of the product is extremely hard to fault as a consumer device. From sound, features to build it screams 'big' 'big' potential as an audiophile player. Once they iBasso get it stabilized its going to be a super DAP.

Excellent review, I get mine tomorrow. Can't wait. My guess is it may be a little bright with my Dunu 2Kj but with the money I'll save, if I like it, will make room for something a little warmer. Perhaps the Westone W40.
