Thanks for the review ! You told that "HE-400i generally has more treble than the HE-560" , but people who listened both tell that the 560 has more a fatiguing treble, while the 400i have a soft treble.

Yeah, I owned both as well.
And the HE-560 definitely has a smoother and less strident treble as compared to the HE-400i.
The HE-400i has more treble quantity to my ears. The HE-400S is a different story though.

Interesting, I had an HE-560 and agreed totally with you, they had the most soft treble I ever heard ! But almost all people on head-fi tell that 560 have a harsh treble, I don't understand...
I was thinking in buy an HE-400i because of they affordable price and because most people tell that they have a soft treble (i don't like hp's with harsh treble) . How do you describes the 400S / 400i treble ?

400S is the way to go for you.
It's quite mellow on the top end but maintains good detail.
It's almost never sibilant.
