Hi, how the DH80 compares to other portable DAC. I am interested specially on the BTR5, the Q3 and the ifi hip dac.

Don't have those. Have others like Hidizs DH1000, xDuoo XD05Plus, S8, S9, Audinst, Audirect, Tempotec, SMSL....

I received mine (DH80S) a month ago. I can warmly recommend that device. Not only works well with my headphones (tried AKG K812, Beyer T5 3rd, Grado SR325x) but works excellently as a preamp I found out which seems on par with contemporary standalone gear by e/g Gustard. It really seems to "like" the easy to drive input stage of my mono blocks (as it works remarkably well with a pure headphone amp connected, too). To do so I took a 4.4mm Pentaconn to dual 3-pin XLR connector and plugged it into power amps (2x Audiolab 8300MB) directly with no attenuation in between. When DH80 set to "low gain" it's in a perfect voltage range not to fully blow away your ears. Even if ever accidentially set to 100% volume (resulting volume range depends on amp's input gain setting, and speakers of course).
Never held such a cheap and brilliantly sounding micro system in my hands (consisting of a 10" Windows-10 tablet + DH80). A real steal!

It is strange what you say about the sub-bass output. If you could see my measurements at 20Hz, they even give more power than at 1kHz, testing with various resistors and voltages. Could it be a problem with the unit?

@cqtek I revised my comment above, it was my stupidity first, too ankward to tell anyone about the mistake I made. Higly recommendable gear. So thankful for these grounded 4.4mm plugs, will try to get rid of all 2.5mm little rod plugs remaining asap. Sleepy European cable industry unfortunately does nothing to introduce any 4.4mm connector cables or adapter cables.

Hi, I just got my DH80S today. It just plugs 'n' plays with my windows laptop and my ipod, but I can't get it to work with my android phone (motorola G7, which works fine with my iFi xDSD USB DAC/amp). The supplied instructions are very scant, I enabled 'USB debugging mode', couldn't find 'OTG option' in settings, and installed Hiby Music Player. The Hiby player, UAPP and Tidal apps all fail to see the DH80S, any ideas about what I might be doing wrong?

The leaflet says technical support should be found on weibo, facebook or Head-Fi. Search did not bring up a support thread here, is there one? I don't facebook, and all I know about weibos is that they wobbble but don't fall down.
