@audio123 nice review. Can you explain more about the treble extension you mentioned in the cons? Didn't see it mentioned much in the review/comparisons. Thank you!

@gemmoglock Hi, thank you! The treble is extended to a moderate level with a smooth presentation.

Thanks @audio123, I'm curious as I'm comparing this with the Onkyo DP-S1. How would the treble extension compare to the Sony XZ300? Does your Andro, B400 or FIBAE 2 treble work well with the R3? I just realised you have a really nice collection of IEMs I've shortlisted here and there :)

The ZX-300 is more expensive than the R3 so the comparison might be unfair. It has better treble extension definitely.

Yea. Those iems work well with the HiBy R3! I like the Andromeda pairing especially.

Thanks for sharing! I'm now on the fence, as the DP-S1 is quite neutral and extends decently, but I can't predict how the R3 will sound in comparison ><

Nice review :) Quick question though... Do you know why the given SNR specs are negative? I've never seen -ve values for a SNR spec for a DAP before. SNR<0 implies the noise rms is larger than that of the signal. It would sound pretty awful if that were true. But if the negative sign isn't a typo, why does the 3.5 mm output have a larger magnitude SNR than the 2.5 mm balanced? That makes no sense either. Anybody got any thoughts on this?

@csglinux thanks for pointing it out. I copied the specifications from the Kickstarter page.
