Did you try the Havi with the JVC Spiral Dot or KZ Whirlwind ear tips? I found they enhanced the bass without taking away from the sound quality at other frequencies.
@hakushondaimao I tried it with the regular FXT90 tips and KZ whirlwinds, among others. The KZ tips do not seal in my ears at all. The JVC tips were nice, but the stock dualies still gave me the best sound and seal. Don't get me wrong, I do find them very bass light, probably due to my past earphones and current favourite, but I REALLY like them as-is.
My first-gen B3P1s just cracked open the other day, for reasons I cannot possibly explain. Part of the shell on the right monitor just fell away and I had to superglue it back on because of how it broke. Now they don't sound quite right, so I have to replace them. It's great to see such a solid review of the new tuning. Thank you very much.
Can anyone speak firsthand to how I can assure my replacement pair is the new version? Would ordering off of Amazon be a total crap shoot?
Buying from Penon Audio or Lend me ur Ears would probably be safe. They're quite reliable. Someone else would have to confirm these suggestions, but I would be surprised if they still had the original in stock.
@Djinnenjous how could you possibly crack open it? Havi uses a screw to hold two parts together, so you really need too much force to do that! Anyway I suggest you to order from Penon Aduio as @B9Scrambler already mentioned. The new Havi comes inside a new box and there should be a hologram sticker indicating that it is Pro1. Please check the box photos in the recent review. @MuZo2 I read your complaints many times... Did you really like the sound? If so you could just put the B3P1 (only the iem) in to a small bubble envelope and send it back to the place where you bought it for warranty. Havi provides "1 year warranty" if you bought them from an authorised dealer such as Penon Audio. But if you didn't do it, no need to complain... And don't get surprised because even the most popular full sized hp's discussed in head-fi were effected from "bigger (larger volume)" issues (just check early days of K7XX and recent Fidelio X2 thread pages . I have to add, its always good to see companies (such as Havi) listening to the people in headfi. Havi updated their iem tuning, they threw some extra accessories and re-design the package, most importantly while doing these, they keep the price same
Nice review, but sadly the left ear just went out on mine(they came in the new packaging, bought last year) so I'm looking for a replacement that has removable cables. I tried my friends meelectronics m6 pros but the mids were just too weird and recessed compared to the b3 pro 1s.
