I heard it a local retailer. Initial impression is its a great amp, at least no less then similar amp of its price bracket. Didn't have extensive time with it, probably will go down to visit and try it again.

Does anyone knows if you can use a single ended (RCA) pre-amp with this ? If so, do you lose power for not being balanced ? There's so few info on this unit. Thanks!

It's a pure balance 4.4 in and 4.4 out . Other than a power in, it has nothing else. No other port or buttons

I meant, with using an RCA to 4.4 cable. If that's not possible, i wonder why Headfonia review mentionned using it with a Hugo 2, as far as i know it only has RCA ouput. Hence why i'm asking that question.

It seems to be possible since HAA sells the cable (HAA by Sin RCA to 4.4 Cable) themself according to the review and I saw it on HAA site too. When I was at the shop to try, I used balance 4.4 to interconnect. My guess is the amp isn't fussy is it a SE or Balance in.

I like to know is the 4.4mm input / output a 5-pole per Pentaconn spec?

If DAP is the recommended source, most DAP 4.4mm output is only 4-pole because it's designed for headphones use, not a true line out.

It uses genuine 5-pole Pentaconn 4.4mm female input/output from what I can see in the photo:

Guys. Help me understand why the HAA Resolute costs $3500€

.
I’m not being sarcastic, I just want genuine feedback here as to why anyone thinks this amp is worth its price tag.

I think of it as a power amp for headphones that’s simply designed for pure power with probably no limit in practical to the headroom for headphones.

Now is it worth it or not is like with every other audio amplifier, can you hear a difference and if it sounds good to you or not. I tried it before even knowing the price and my personnel opinion is it can beat some full sized amp of similar pricing in sound.

That said i didn’t buy it then as it was not available and I guess i found something more special later.

My latest trio:
IER-Z1R (w/i BSEP for Z1R) / NW-WM1 / HAA Resolute

I was listening to the track "Hello by Friends of Carlotta" and it was just just amazing, black black background, excellent lower mid, bass and sub bass extensions, musical, emotional, an experience at an entirely diff level!

Will try the 1ZM2 later

As for now the sound coming out from the Resolute is absolutely stunning! No regret to purchase the Resolute as it gives a new life to the 1Z (am sure will do the same for the M2).

This review of the Resolute has been instrumental for me to decide on the purchase (https://musicalhead.de/2023/08/10/test-thrax-resolute-by-haa/), as the review tested the Resolute with Chord and the ZÄHL HM1 REFERENCE, and the Resolute is just plainly transparent and honest without coloring the source and everything in between. Well I can confirm that trhis is really case! I'm just hearing the sound as faithfully reproduced by the NW-WM1 and the IER-Z1R, as I've listened to the track thousand times!

The Resolute gives the NW-WM1 a better life, and the true potential that the DAP is capable of!

Hi,
Do you only use the Resolute on Daps? Was wondering how it sounds from a preamp as I have heard it sounds great connected to Chord Dave analogue outputs using the SIN cable they provide?

Well I own the Resolute and usd it with the Okto Dac stereo, this is a DAC with a volume attenuator. Sounds world class and I struggle with keeping the Resolute or the much bigger Headamp gsx mk2 - with the same dac the sounds are equally good but different in presentations

So are you saying there is not much difference in performance using the Thrax connected to Okto and the GSX MK2 connected to OKto?

I'm saying there is a difference they are both very high qualitatively but have distinct presentations. The Resolute is warmer with a more intimate stage smaller than the gsx. The gsx is slightly more resolving and the stage was so wide open. They have very different use cases with the Resolute being more versatile than the gsx if you are a multi location listener and want a TOLT with you as highly transportable.

GSX if you favor speed, stage and resolution
Resolute if you favor richer sound, with world-class sound with the advantages or transportabilty
