Re: wire - Indeed it is, but the new wire style is (to me) less annoying because it doesn’t twist as much. Swapping for balanced cable would be a nice feature, but not working for them, I’m not sure what that change would do to their production costs - and I think the price is right for what you get.

The Mustang analogy is perfect.

Love this review and might be the reason that finally push me to get this can..... My current stable ZMF VO, Beyer T1, Focal Clear MG, Sennheiser HD560s, Grado Hemps, and Grado GS1000i (both modded with mini -xlr removable cable and upgraded headband). I've been eyeing these for some time and I'm wondering if these will have a unique enough sound signature vs. my other cans to have me coming back to them every now and then (I easily get bored and like to switch up cans/amps). I have the same stack (Gungnir MB & Mjolnir 2) and I do like how it pairs with my other Grados -- but also really like how it pairs with my SS amps (Magni 3+ and Grado RA-1). Really curious to hear the Grado metallic sound profile on the 325x -- I listened to the Grado PS2000e with a Schiit Lyr 3 at canjam 2019 and really dug that combo - and wondering if there's a bit of that sound with the 325x.
