Very good read. was this the S version? I suppose it will take a while to work out all those configurations. But once you finally achieve what you want, your set. Look good mate, as usual nice pics to go with.
This review is inline with most other impressions. This seems like an above average IEM, but doesn't do anything great. I wouldn't buy this, but the filter system is a really cool idea and worked out fairly well apparently.
The main merit of this IEM is to choose the type of tuning that you like. A lot of people seem to think that it is all that is. However, that doesn't mean it falls short of detail presentation, balance, imaging etc. If you are thinking, "well it has tuning capabilty, but it probably doesn't sound great", you'd be surprised how well it sounds. Clarity is superb and that even comes from experience of using proper amped HE-560 for a long time. The tuning system is actually pretty effective too. You can clearly notice the difference between each config. Price is not so easy to decide though...and the cable is not too great either. In the end, enjoyment is what matters and this IEM is a superb choice of hitting that sweet spot. The red, gray, gray config is just pure bliss...
I'm still on the fence with FLC8s, short audition them twice. I wonder what would be better alternative (comparable with flc8pricewise) to have better center depth. I once audition 5 driver ciem (forgot model maybe CW) and really like the mid depth
Nice review. Even though you mention the FLC8 (older model) in the review body the title indicates FLC8S (newer/"improved" model) which I assume is the model you actually reviewed? I ordered a set prior to seeing this. Your write-up just makes me more anxious for the FLC8S to arrive quicker!
