One small tweaky question.   I do not think either the new X3 or X5 have hardware EQ.  Thus, I was not sure where you are going in the conclusion when referring to the new X3.  Did you mean to talk about the absence of a feature from the old X3 on the new X5 (as opposed to the new X3 which is what you discussed but seems out of place in the X5 review). 
 
I gather you were OK with the sound signature in general of the new X5?  One of your earlier posts made me think you had some reservations.

@originalsnuffy - Yes, I'm ok with the sound signature of the X5ii.  I see it as being different - but not superior to - the original X5.  If I were switching, it'd be because of the improved design and not the slightly altered sound signature.  As it is, I currently see no real reason tom upgrade from my original X5.  If I didn't have the original X5 and were buying a new DAP today, well... I'm not sure which I'd purchase...

Maybe for those experiencing ergonomy issues, changing from x5 to x5II might be a good way to go.
