@Grg95 That's good to hear. Not surprised either. FiiO tends to update and tweak their gear on the regular which is appreciated. They don't just release it and drop support.
FWIW, I have some FiiO products and love them BUT:
In order to get near "neutrality" I have to add synthetic treble and cut the bass. And a whole 15 hours battery life in 2020.
I understand it's cheap but I've seen cheap for years with better specs frankly.
@perhapss I've seen it too but specs are only one aspect of a product. Using it for an extended period tells the real story. This isn't an audiophile dap either. Look at the marketing. That extra bass/warmth is right in line with the target audience. Either way, it's pleasant to use with fewer quirks/cut corners than other comparably priced gear I've spent time with. 15 hours battery was enough. Not amazing, not terrible, but totally usable everyday without being inconvenienced. Never going to spent 15 hours straight using it, lol.
Warm ,bassy ,mainstream "consumer level"?
How so?isn t the sabre dac suposed to be one of the most acurate detailed dacs out there?
And isn't all these things won even deserve to be mentioned when custom eq firmware arives?
@Grg95 Thanks for the feedback. Just reporting what I'm hearing. You'd have to test it for yourself to verify. I review what the product is, not what it could be. If they update the firmware and address any of the concerns I had, like adding custom EQ, the review will be updated accordingly.
it's a device that's kinda designed for younger crowd, students or professionals whose jobs is obliged to not bring around a device capable of being connected on the Internet it seems.
The extra features reflect those kind of usabilities.
Do you think that i have had to order the well respected jwd jwm 115 instead...you are puting me in "concerned" mode, the fiio is suposed to be more powerfull and i listen really loud...
I think that a custom eq firm update will solve everything, becouse i supose that:custom eq and crappy dac:trouble ,but custom eq + SABRE dac:infinite posibilities!lets see
