I had the ER4XR, i agree that ER4XR > ER2SE for bass speed & overall detail. I never once thought the BA drivers were thin for bass, I can tell they are aiming for a planar sound with much faster driver speed & unforgiving detail power. They still slam hard with bassy EDM type music despite being purely BA based, But much cleaner sounding than DD's imo.
The ER3 give the same deatail/speed if you a 75ohm cable to turn it into a ER4.
So right now, I'm looking for IEM, My first candidate is PMV PP then i found these ER2SE. Just wondering, are they (ER2SE) still hold the competition against the new comer IEM (especially Chi-fi IEM) nowadays?
Do these cans good for metal genre that require fast transient and attack? And btw, i just can't tolerate peaky upper mid. Do these cans relatively free from sibilance?
There pretty much smooth as you can get without sounding dark. For the fast transient and attack bit your better of getting the ER4XR since the ER2SE can sound slow/weird on metal. I use the ER4S daily for metal .
@twiceboss@Blackwoof unfortunately, the XR version not available in my local retailer. Tanya is my new daily
drive IEM and i think Tanya Is just another fun sounding budget IEM but i found they're just too smooth for metal and the transient rather slow.
How about PMV PP or NF NA2+???
So I just bought an ER2SE recently and I am not able to enjoy them, I feel like they have almost zero soundstage and bass is very weak. I was wondering if it is kinda normal and if soundstage is mostly like that for Iem as this is my first serious one? Also, could in-ear placement or the sound source be the problem? What would be the best type of music to enjoy the ER2SE?
