Great review! Let's hope I'm able to get one of these for myself, I'm really hyped for this one :D

@avitron142 There's certainly a steep price to it, but definitely an exciting product!

I am not prone to look at customs very often because the fun for me is trading cans with my son, but what a fantastic review. You really did an excellent job in outlining the features and benefits of the product and I especially enjoyed your "universal vs custom" comments. I had not considered the sounds would be so different.

Thank you for the review! I recently got a pair of Zeus universal and love the sound, I do notice like you did, the midrange to be a bit too warm and forward when paired with my ak380c. Despite the small shortcoming I love the sound of Zeus so much I want to get a pair of the customs.

I was told the 2pin socket on the custom version is recessed, did you have any trouble connecting it to the Norne cable? I ordered their Therium series cable after reading your review. The termination looks quite big in the photos, so I wasn't sure if it fit the recessed socket perfectly. Would you let me know?

Thanks!

@siwe1st The 2 pin socket of the custom Zeus is indeed recessed - assuming your ears are large enough to accommodate them. My units are recessed, but my left ear is only partially recessed because there's no space for it to be fully recessed haha.

Norne's cables are fantastic and most of their 2 pin options fit recessed sockets. If you go with their default Eidolic 2 pin plugs (which you should!), they should fit without any problems.

Please compare, briefly, the ZEUS to the 64Audio A-12, I will be buying one or the other this week so any input would be most helpful...thanks...RobSF
