Wonderful, my friend! Looks like I could absolutely live with its sound sig and technicalities, but with its ergonomics I can certainly not :frowning2:

Hopefully you'll be able to try if you come to CJ Singapore!!
It is quite a hefty cable indeed 😂

Hey Steve, great review as always. The fact you mentioned it was stiffer than you expected is probably a little concerning as I am sure you expected it to have little flexibility! Also, I wonder will the copper fatigue and eventually break if people are bending it into different shapes and so on to suit where they are using it  Sounds like a good cable for its price though based on your impressions.

It's so wonderful to hear from you my friend! 😊
Ergonomic is subjective to each individual and I know some people have no problem carrying this around. It is definitely on the "stiffer" side but the malleability of the cable makes it easy to shape it to your convenience.

I assume that maybe with more time, it will loosen up a bit?
Only time will tell and I'm sure other owners would be more than happy to chim in.

Epic review mon ami and wholeheartedly agree with your closing:

I’m delighted to see Effect Audio offer a highly technical cable that is made accessible to hobbyists who aren’t keen on spending over a thousand dollars on cables that are worth more than their iems. This is a win for both the manufacturer and consumers, which I hope would inspire other companies to follow suit and offer cheaper flagship cables to make it more accessible for the general audiophile consumers.

After spending kilobucks on many, this is one of the most highly technical cable that punches above its price point and should be one’s shortlist for consideration. As it’s my first EA cable, the Code 23 has been a great introduction to the brand.

Lovely to see another friend of mine here 😊
I'm quite enjoying the Code 23 with Ragnar and Rs8 at the moment haha
I was planning to include it in the review, but my Rs8 arrived a little too late to make that happen.

I hope you'll get to try Chiron and Centurion one day!!

In the same way I find your reviews very informative and entertaining to read.
Plus the top notch artistic photos you take, while mine comes across very casual in comparison 😂

Great review, thanks! Right before Code 23 was released, EA did a limited run of 8 wire signature series, including the Eros, which I bought for about $450 with my chosen termination.

Did I make a mistake putting my money there instead of here? It feels like maybe, except that I don't find the cable to be stiff or heavy, despite its size. And, of course, it sounds amazing. Do I need to buy code 23 or should I save up and find a code 51?

Extremely detailed review. However, what the 2pin/MMCX means in the description of the default cable setting? Does it mean that it can connect both 2pin and MMCX?

I would love to be able to give you my thoughts in regards to this, but I have not heard the Eros S 8-wire to determine how it compares with Code 23.

I would not undermine the decision you've made as being a "mistake", but rather a thoughtful and rational one considering the circumstances and available options back then.

I have not heard Code 51, but it is a mixture of GPS and palladium-plated silver alloy. Their inherent geometric composition is different that I'd be hard pressed to say one is objectively better than the other.

I hope this helps! 😊
